New Jersey Jury Indicts Truck Driver In Tracy Morgan Crash

Just before Christmas last year, a New Jersey grand jury indicted the driver of the Wal-Mart truck that slammed into the limo carrying comedians Tracy Morgan and James McNair. McNair was killed and Morgan was severely injured in the accident. The driver is being charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide, and third-degree aggravated assault.

The Fast And The Furious Star’s Father Sues Porsche

Paul William Walker III, father of late actor Paul Walker, recently announced that he is suing Porsche for his son’s death. The younger Walker, who rose to fame in the Fast and Furious film franchise, was killed in an accident two years ago while a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT.

Edmond Teen Killed In Lake Crash

A young life came to a sad end earlier this month, when a 16 year old Edmond boy died on his way to high school. The accident happened when the teen was driving across Arcadia Lake on Memorial Road. The car apparently jumped a guardrail and tumbled into the lake, killing the driver. The boy was driving alone.

New Child Car Seat Requirements in Oklahoma

Speeding Risks on Oklahoma Roads

Speeding poses a serious risk on U.S. roads, according to studies by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In 2010, 10,395 people lost their lives in speeding-related crashes. That is about one-third of all people who died in car accidents.

Oklahoma Area Highways Are Full Of Danger

A report from the Joplin Globe illustrates just how dangerous local highways can be. The article lists a series of vehicle accidents that happened on October 27th in southwestern Missouri. In one single night, a total of four accidents, involving eight cars and one motorcycle, resulted in six injuries. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but many of the injured people were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Two Injured In Oklahoma City Rollover Accident

Motor vehicles can be dangerous to both their drivers and passengers. This was shown again in an accident in Bethany late last month. As reported by News9, the accident happened when two vehicles collided, causing one vehicle to roll over. Emergency crews were needed to extract some occupants of the overturned vehicle. One adult and one child were injured. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OHSO), there were a reported 4,286 rollover accidents in Oklahoma in 2014. Of that number, 2,593 resulted in injury and another 210 resulted in death.

Norman Collision with Police Car Results in Serious Injury

With the advanced safety features built into modern cars, it’s easy to feel like you’re riding around in an invincible cocoon. But as a report in the Norman Transcript reveals, automobile collisions can still result in serious injury.

According to the Transcript, an accident happened on Halloween day when a Norman police car (a 2011 Crown Victoria) struck a much smaller car (a 1992 Geo Prism) that had turned in front of the police car. The officer was treated for minor injuries and released. But, the driver of the Prism was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
