With a nation as large and diverse as the United States, you\u2019re bound to come across all kinds of people, each with their own behavioral quirks, habits, and customs tied to their home state. Oklahoma is one such state in which its residents hold a lot of pride, and for good reason. The Sooner State is certainly fascinating with its diverse natural regions and dense cultural history.<\/p>\n

But what about the people in the state? What are Oklahomans all about? Well, if you relate to the following list, you\u2019re definitely a true Oklahoman.<\/p>\n

  1. You can properly pronounce the following words all in the row without getting your tongue twisted up: Eufaula, Muskogee, Pushmataha, Sapulpa, Okemah, Tishomingo, and Chickasha.<\/li>\n
  2. When looking for a parking spot, you don\u2019t look for the space closest to the entrance. You look for the space with the most shade.<\/li>\n
  3. You\u2019re thoroughly familiar with \u201cbeer runs,\u201d some of which involve crossing state borders.<\/li>\n
  4. When a tornado siren goes off, you don\u2019t run for shelter. You go out into the yard and try to spot the funnel.<\/li>\n
  5. You know what \u201ccalf fries\u201d and \u201cmountain oysters\u201d are and you don\u2019t find them completely unpleasant. In fact, you enjoy them.<\/li>\n
  6. You\u2019d prefer a Ford F150 4×4 over a BMW.<\/li>\n
  7. You know the four seasons as: Tornado, Summer, Still Summer, and Christmas.<\/li>\n
  8. Your local paper covers headlines on the front page alone. The rest of the space is used for sports and church news.<\/li>\n
  9. A soda is a \u201ccoke,\u201d but not necessarily a \u201cCoke.\u201d You know what I\u2019m saying.<\/li>\n
  10. Seeing \u201cchicken fried chicken\u201d on the menu doesn\u2019t strike you as the least bit odd.<\/li>\n
  11. You can find movie rentals, live ammunition, and fishing bait all at the convenience store.<\/li>\n
  12. Your dream vacation is to go to the OU\/Texas game.<\/li>\n
  13. You know that Miami, Oklahoma and Miami, Florida have completely different pronunciations.<\/li>\n
  14. You\u2019ve retained some country and western dances from your school days.<\/li>\n
  15. You and another driver have caused jams at four-way stop intersections by being overly polite and refusing to go first.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
