According to a report in <em>The Oklahoman<\/em>, the fire began at the South Park Health Care Center on Ross Avenue. Officials say that staff members were able to help residents get out of the building before any of them were injured. The six injured nursing home staff members sustained smoke-related illnesses but have been listed in good condition. It is not clear from the report what caused the fire or how it could have been prevented.<\/p>\n<p>In this incident, the sprinkler system successfully put out the fire before it spread. The report does not specify how much of the building was damaged, but the workers were able to keep the residents safe during the fire. After an incident where workers or residents are hurt, an investigation typically takes place to determine if the building has been built to code and properly maintained.
